Ergonomically designed Seats

With their ergonomic design, pronounced side supports and luxurious padding, both Volvo's front and rear seats are widely accepted as some of the finest in the car world. Add in features like stepless lumbar support in the driver's seat, together with a wide array of upholstery materials and designs – and you'll have a seat you'll never want to leave.

Power driver's seat and manual height adjustable passenger seat

Adjust the driver's seat and door mirrors to a position perfect for you and save the settings. Every time you use your central locking remote, the seats and mirrors will automatically adjust to your preferences. Up to 3 different seat and door mirror settings can be saved into the memory system that is linked to the central locking remote controls. Each remote triggers the corresponding setting from the last time that particular remote control was used. This option also includes a manual height-adjustable passenger seat.

Power front seats, driver and passenger

Adjust the driver's seat and door mirrors to a position perfect for you and save the settings. Every time you use your central locking remote, the seats and mirrors will automatically adjust to your preferences. Up to 3 different seat and door mirror settings can be saved into the memory system that is linked to the central locking remote controls. Each remote triggers the corresponding setting from the last time that particular remote control was used. Passenger seat settings can also be set and reset automatically.

Cabin Filter

Preventing dust, pollen and exhaust particles from entering the cabin via the ventilation system, the cabin filter is a real benefit to driver and passengers prone to hay fever or other allergies.

Electronic Climate Control (ECC)

Ensures you and your passengers always enjoy a pleasant in-car climate. It maintains the set temperature inside the car however much the temperature outside changes, or the sun shines in. The driver and front-seat passenger can regulate the temperature individually for each side. A built-in cabin filter prevents dust, pollen and exhaust particles from entering the cabin via the ventilation system. The rear adjustable ventilation and heating vents enhance comfort for the rear-seat passengers and help keep the rear side windows ice and mist free. By adding the interior air quality system, you will also prevent fumes and odours from getting into the car.

Interior Air Quality System (IAQS)

Volvo’s IAQS continuously monitors incoming air and will, if necessary, temporarily close external air vents to shut out carbon monoxide, ground-level ozone and nitrogen dioxide. Meanwhile, an active carbon filter protects the occupants from other harmful gases and unpleasant odours. This helps to ensure that the air you breathe in the car is cleaner than that outside when driving in heavy city traffic and tunnels.

Humidity Sensor

Furthing contributing to your health and comfort, Volvo's unique humidity sensor helps ensure cabin air has an appropriate level of humidity according to climate on the outside.

Adjustable air vents, rear

Conveniently positioned in the door pillars, these adjustable air vents keep rear-seat passengers comfortable and ice and mist off the rear side windows.

Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP)

CZIP includes a series of modifications to improve the interior atmosphere. Materials are chosen carefully to avoid harmful fumes and surfaces are smooth so they’re easy to clean. And when it’s at least 10° C outside, opening the car by remote triggers a sixty-second ventilation cycle. The end result is cabin air that meets the approval of the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association.

Tinited Windows

The rear side and load compartment windows are tinted to help cut glare and keep cabin temperatures down in strong sun light.

Heat-reflecting windscreen

The heat-reflecting windscreen and front side windows reduce the temperature inside the car by filtering out some of the sun's glare. Also helps reduce the risk of being dazzled by the sun and enhances the interior climate comfort.

Power glass sunroof

This glass sunroof adds a further dimension of air and light to the interior. And if the sun is in your eyes, just pull out the integrated sunblind. The sunroof can be opened or closed at the touch a button in the roof console.It can also be closed together with the side windows using the central locking remote control.

Technology & Sound

Power Outlet

Neatly integrated at the rear end of the tunnel console, the extra power outlet can provide electricity for a laptop, game console, DVD player or other portable electronic devices.

Personal settings

Define your Volvo's convenience, security and handling settings according to your personal preferences using this simple computer interface. Depending on which technologies you have, this is where you configure the audio and climate settings, Adaptive Cruise Control, steering force level, seat and mirror positions, navigation, communication, central locking, Approach and Home Safe lighting and the Intelligent Driver Information System.

Cruise Control

Conveniently operated from the steering wheel, cruise control allows you to drive relaxed without having to keep your foot on the accelerator. The car maintains the speed you choose until you turn off the cruise control or press the brake, accelerator or clutch. After accelerating – for instance to overtake – your car automatically reverts to its previous cruising speed once you release the accelerator. After braking, the car returns to its previous cruising speed at the touch of a button.

Bluetooth hands-free system, integrated

Together with a compatible Bluetooth GSM phone, this feature combines the benefits of the car's infotainment system with wireless telephony. Caller ID and your pre-programmed telephone numbers are instantly displayed via the main display and you can switch freely from the hands-free system to the phone itself. You operate your phone using the buttons in the steering wheel. Sound quality is enhanced and the system automatically remembers the mobile last used.

Audio System

This is our top-of-the line audio system designed for dynamic clarity with the entire sound spectrum. This system features twelve loudspeakers by Dynaudio – a world leader in loudspeaker technology. In addition, Dolby® Pro Logic® II surround sound helps tailor a well-balanced audio experience for each occupant. Premium Sound includes:

Road & Traffic Information (RTI)

The Volvo navigation system is your perfect travel companion. It is a high performance DVD system using a combination of voice guidance and map displays to help you find the shortest and fastest way to your destination, saving you both time and fuel costs along the way. It will tell you where the nearest petrol station is or give directions to a restaurant and it also suggests an alternate route when your normal route is overly congested (requires traffic information, TMC). The 6.5" retractable screen is located in a high position on the dashboard ensuring safe viewing. You don't have to remove the navigation system from your vehicle when you park, it is fully integrated into the car, hence offering theft protection and the benefit of having no visible cables in your Volvo. The system has passed severe Volvo crash tests and is located in a position that minimizes the risk of harming occupants in case of an accident. Park Assist Rear

Park Assist Rear makes it easier to reverse, for instance when backing into a space between two cars. A pulsating tone inside the cabin rises to a steady signal when an object is about 30 cm behind your rear bumper. Can also be supplemented with Park Assist Front to alert you when you are too close to an object in front of your car. Park Assist Front is a $325 option

Rain Sensor

When the rain sensor is activated, your windscreen wipers will start automatically as soon as it starts to rain or water splashes onto the windscreen. You can even change its sensitivity - or turn it off completely - via a button/ring on the wiper stalk.

Safety

BLIS, (the Blind Spot Information System)

BLIS, (the Blind Spot Information System) is particularly reassuring in congested and fast-moving traffic situations. Using rear-facing digital cameras installed in the door mirrors, it monitors the traffic on either side of the car. As a vehicle enters your blind spot, the system helps alert you with a discreet lamp built in to the front door post on the approaching side of the car. Together with the door mirrors, this helps enable you to quickly assess the feasibility of a lane change. The system is activated once the car exceeds 10 km/h, and reacts to almost any type of motor vehicle. It works equally well, day or night. Always check your mirrors. Be aware of the traffic around you.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) with Driver Alert Control (DAC)

At speeds over 65 km/h, Lane Departure Warning can help prevent single-vehicle road departures as well as collisions caused by temporary distraction. This function uses the digital camera to register the lane markings and help monitor the car’s position on the road. If you weave out of your lane, LDW will alert with an audible signal. If you intentionally cross a lane marker using the direction indicators, LDW is not activated. LDW also contains Driver Alert Control (DAC).

Active Bending Lights (ABL)

In addition to improving illumination by about 230% using Dual Xenon light technology, the Active Bending Lights give a 90% boost to your vision round bends at night. Controlled by microprocessors, the motorised lamps turn up to 15 degrees in either direction when driving – reliably lighting up your chosen path. The adaptive function automatically disengages during daylight.

Adaptive brake light

Active at speeds above 50 km/h, the adaptive brake light can sense the difference between normal and panic braking. If it is a panic situation, all the brake lights will flash at a rate of four times per second. Once your speed slows to below 30 km/h, the lights stop flashing and hazard lights flash instead. Using LED technology that needs less time to light up than regular bulbs, traffic behind you can react sooner.

Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS)

IDIS is another Volvo safety world first, inspired by technology normally found in fighter aircraft. To avoid unnecessary distractions in critical driving situations, IDIS constantly analyses the driving situation. If necessary, it momentarily delays some information from the car’s onboard systems—such as the integrated phone. As soon as things calm down, the call or relevant warning is then relayed to the driver. IDIS can be set up to let phone calls through in all driving situations.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Distance Alert and Collision Warning with Auto Brake

Helping the driver to keep a safe distance from vehicles in front at speeds over 30 km/h, ACC is a supportive partner for a more relaxed driving experience on long journeys and motorways. Just select the desired speed and the minimum time gap to the vehicle in front. When the radar sensor detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. And when the road is clear, the car resumes the selected speed. If ACC is disengaged and a vehicle in front comes too close, Distance Alert activates a red warning light in the lower section of the windscreen to help you keep a proper distance. ACC also includes Collision Warning with Auto Brake (CWAB).

DSTC anti-skid system

DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control) enhances driving stability in slippery conditions by comparing the rotation of the drive wheels and, if needed, varying the power supply. This system also compares the car's direction with its steering wheel movements. Then, when necessary, cuts engine power or brakes individual wheels to help reduce skidding and maintain control. You can even set the system to ensure extra traction in snowy conditions.

Water-repellent side windows

To help offer far better visibility in the wet, these front side windows help repel water as you drive. The hydrophobic surface treatment turns water into small drops that will be blown away by the force of the wind. This also gives you the benefit of less ice or frost in winter conditions.

Anti-locking brake system with Emergency Brake Assistance (EBA)

The anti-locking disc brakes are designed for optimal performance even during repetitive and intensive use. You can brake as hard as you like as you steer clear of trouble. EBA detects an attempted emergency braking and, when necessary, provides added assistance to bring the car to standstill in the shortest possible distance. Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) distributes the braking effect between the front and rear wheels to achieve optimal results according to load and driving conditions.

Integrated front and rear side-marker lamps help alert other drivers to your car's presence.
